This project was written in the dead of winter.. an optimistic gaze towards the imminent spring. Stylistically I wanted to touch on genres that made me fall in love with dance music in the first place.. Junior Vasquez’ Factory dubs (NYC), Florida breaks, Ralph Rosario’s Underground Construction era (Chicago), Miami bass & Detroit electro. When searching for vocal samples to tell the story I wanted to share both sides of the human condition.. Love/Loss, Lust/Heartbreak, Joy/Pain.. feelings that ring so much deeper in the frigid months. While the vibe of each track may shift gears, the narrative voice helps to keep the message cohesive.
